Jerry Ash, president and chief executive officer of the Nevada Hospital Association, is resigning to head a national organ transplant center based in Houston.
Mr. Ash, 55, who headed the NHA for the past six years, will begin his new career as president and executive director of LifeGift Organ Donation Center.
LifeGift is a federally designated organ procurement organization serving hospitals in 102 counties in Texas and the metropolitan areas of Houston, Fort Worth, Lubbock and Amarillo.
No immediate replacement has been named.
"I regret leaving this association at this time because it's doing some great things for the future," Mr. Ash told MODERN HEALTHCARE. "But at the same time the job in Houston is more of a calling and is a great opportunity for me."
Located in Reno, the Nevada Hospital Association recently changed its name to the Nevada Association of Hospitals and Health Systems.
The name change reflects the organization's representation of hospitals, managed-care organizations and physician groups throughout Nevada, the association said.
