I would like to correct a misimpression left by an article concerning American Healthcare Systems (Aug. 29, p. 16). Vantage Health Group and McLaren Health Care Corp. have never had a direct relationship with AmHS.
Individual hospitals within the Vantage network and McLaren system were contractually affiliated with two of AmHS' regional shareholders. Through these two shareholders, these individual hospitals were able to access AmHS contracts.
Under AmHS' shareholder recruitment guidelines, which are very selective, neither of the above groups would qualify as a shareholder and neither was ever considered in this regard.
