MODERN HEALTHCARE is no stranger to awards programs. In fact, it would be nothing short of unfair to examine the abundance of healthcare awards programs without including our own.
The magazine entered the awards arena in 1979 with its Trustee of the Year program. Today, MODERN HEALTHCARE sponsors three healthcare-related awards:
The Health Care Hall of Fame
Trustees of the Year
Up and Comer Awards for healthcare executives 40 years of age and younger.
In addition, MODERN HEALTHCARE serves as a co-sponsor for a number of other award programs. They include:
CFO Fellowship Award to Harvard Business School, which is co-sponsored by Cain Brothers.
Service Excellence Awards, co-sponsored by Marriott Health Care Services.
Excellence in Healthcare Risk Management Award, co-sponsored by MMI Cos.
The Governance Fellowship Award, co-sponsored by the Governance Institute.
Design Awards, co-sponsored by the American Institute of Architects' Academy of Architecture for Health.
The new National Information Infrastructure Applications Awards, which also is sponsored by the C. Everett Koop Institute and the American Medical Association.
Criteria for entering one of MODERN HEALTHCARE's award programs vary. For example, a fee of $175 is required to enter the Design Awards. The other programs, however, have no entrance fee.
"We have a diverse healthcare readership and wish to recognize excellence in a number of disciplines," said Charles Lauer, publisher of MODERN HEALTHCARE. "It's our way of showing our commitment and involvement in the industry we serve."
