Family members and friends of nursing home residents living in facilities run by Beverly Enterprises are generally satisfied with the overall quality of care, says a survey sponsored by the Fort Smith, Ark.-based nursing home chain.
The company released the results one month after its shareholders voted down a union-backed proposal calling for Beverly to make public all patient-care lawsuits involving the nursing home chain (June 6, p. 22).
Some 93% of the survey respondents said they would recommend a Beverly facility to a friend.
In addition, 58% were satisfied with the overall quality of care, while another 36% were very satisfied. The company surveyed 51,000 people who are responsible for residents in 650 Beverly nursing homes and received a 37% response rate.
