Elliott C. Roberts Sr., chief executive officer of Louisiana's largest public hospital for 10 years, will leave July 1 to become a professor at Louisiana State University's medical school.
Mr. Roberts, 67, will head the Department of Health Sciences Research and Public Health at LSU in New Orleans. The new department will help medical and nursing students stay "on top of the rapid changes in healthcare delivery under health reform," Mr. Roberts said last week.
Mr. Roberts led the 597-bed Medical Center of Louisiana at New Orleans through budget battles and debate about the state's public hospital system.
Succeeding Mr. Roberts is Jonathan Roberts, no relation, who had been associate professor in the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs, Southern University, Baton Rouge, La.
