mechanisms to develop and rank a research agenda for primary care.
Congress should appropriate funds to the AHCPR to provide support for
institutions to develop a culture and infrastructure
conducive to primary-care research.
The Public Health Service should support mechanisms to enhance the
leadership skills of primary-care researchers.
The AHCPR should expand its efforts to increase communication and linkages among primary-care disciplines and researchers.
Give the AHCPR the resources to strengthen collaboration among researchers in academic primary-care units and clinicians in primary-care settings, especially in support of practice-based research.
