The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations has named a director for its newly launched venture into international consulting.
Carol Gilmore, 33, will manage the global education and consulting activities of Joint Commission International, a partnership announced last month involving the Joint Commission and its consulting subsidiary, Quality Healthcare Resources.
Ms. Gilmore, a commission employee for seven years, most recently managed two JCAHO consulting contracts, one with the U.S. Agency for International Development's Eastern European Partnership Project, the other with the U.S. Treasury Department's Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health Project. "Joint Commission International will now act as the formal conduit for continuing to share Joint Commission expertise with other countries seeking to improve the quality of their healthcare," said Dennis O'Leary, M.D., JCAHO president.
