Medical Care America last week completed its sale of Critical Care America, its home infusion line, to Caremark International for $175 million in cash.
Medical Care spokesman Jonathan Bond said the company cleared the federal antitrust 30-day waiting period on March 5. Northbrook, Ill.-based Caremark is the nation's largest provider of home infusion services, operating 125 branches nationwide.
Also, Medical Care has completed its tender offer to buy back 7 million shares of its stock, or about 20% of its 36.5 million outstanding shares.
The Dallas-based company said it now plans to concentrate on its outpatient surgery business.
