Victor E. Botnick has been named president of the ExcelCare System, a newly formed healthcare consortium serving Westchester, Putnam and Fairfield counties in New York.
Mr. Botnick, 39, will oversee ExcelCare's contractual relationships with managed-care plans, employer and employee benefit plans and other large contracts. He'll also manage the network's relationships with other physician-hospital organizations and independent associations.
Previously, Mr. Botnick was vice president for managed-care products and networks at Empire Blue Cross and Blue Shield in New York. From 1986 to 1991, he served as executive director of Sanus Health Plan, a health maintenance organization operated by New York Life Insurance Co. He served as health services administrator for New York City from 1978 to 1986.
