President Clinton has accepted an invitation to address the American Hospital Association's legislative conference this week in Washington.
Mr. Clinton's speech is scheduled for 10 a.m. Feb. 1 in the ballroom of the Washington Hilton.
AHA executives issued the invitation "some weeks ago," said Richard Wade, the AHA's senior vice president of communications. But they hadn't expected a favorable reply because of competing demands for the president's time, Mr. Wade added.
Last year, Mr. Clinton met with the National Governors' Association, which meets at the same time as the AHA.
