A 36-story office building in the Loop section of downtown Chicago may be the next corporate headquarters of the American Hospital Association.
The AHA is abandoning its historic two-building complex on the city's Near North Side in favor of a new location, and the 36-story building at One North Franklin is the new choice, said an AHA source who requested anonymity.
An AHA spokeswoman declined to comment on an exact location. However, she did say negotiations for a new site are ongoing.
A spokesman for the building owners, however, confirmed that the site is a finalist for the new AHA headquarters. He said the AHA is looking at about 150,000 square feet of leased office space, or about one-sixth less space than the association's current complex.
