    Dr. Darrel Weaver
    Vice President of Network Services
    Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama

    Dr. Darrel Weaver serves as vice president of network services for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama. In his role, Dr. Weaver leads eSolutions, Network Development and Education, Credentialing and Communication. Dr. Weaver joined the company in 2008. During his tenure, he has served as Associate Medical Director and Medical Director in Health Management as well as Director of Healthcare Networks before becoming Vice President. After receiving his Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Dr. Weaver earned his medical degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical School. He completed his residency at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Family Medicine. Before coming to Blue Cross, Dr. Weaver served in various leadership roles in Hospital Senior Leadership as well as Physician Practice Management. 

    Dr. Eric Wallace
    Medical Director of Telehealth
    University of Alabama at Birmingham

    Dr. Eric Wallace is a nephrologist who specializes in home dialysis, rare genetic kidney disease such as Fabry disease, and telemedicine. In 2017, Dr. Wallace became the medical director of telehealth for the University of Alabama at Birmingham. UAB eMedicine now participates in inpatient telehealth at more than 14 hospitals, eConsults, remote patient monitoring, and full tele-ICU. Furthermore, during 2020  UAB eMedicine scaled rapidly and did over 280,000 telehealth visits. Dr. Wallace continues to implement telehealth within the health system as a means to improve access to care in a scalable, sustainable, responsible, and integrated manner.

    Jason Carney is vice president and general manager of anemia management at Accumen. He leads the implementation of MyBloodHealth®, a virtual management software product. Jason is nationally recognized blood banking professional and published author in the field of anemia management and transfusion safety. Jason is the former chief operating officer and transfusion safety office for Suncoast Blood Centers and prior to that role he was chief operating officer for the Patient Readiness Institute.
