David Theodoro, MD is the President and Chairman of the SSM Health Heart and Vascular Institute. He also serves as the Chairman, Board of Directors of SSM Health’s Clinically Integrated Network-Gateway Quality Physician Alliance. Dr. Theodoro has over twenty years of clinical and executive leadership in private medical groups, employed medical groups, hospital-based integrated delivery networks and entrepreneurial start-up ventures. He is an expert in strategic development and implementation including organic growth, acquisition, operational improvement, process design and optimization and new-business development. He earned his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine and completed his cardiothoracic residency at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Theodoro is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Theodoro holds an MBA from the Jack Welch Management Institute.
