She has been with HRET since March of 2014 and currently manages a diverse portfolio of federally and privately funded projects. Marie has provided leadership in the following projects; Patient Engagement in the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA - PCORI), HUDDLE for Care (The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation), the Strategic Innovation Engine (IMPAQ), Project ACHIEVE (University of Kentucky), Patient Safety in Ambulatory Settings (AHRQ), and has contributed in her role as team member to Conflict and Optimal Resolution (CANDOR - AHRQ), HEN 2.0 (CMS) in addition to several data oriented projects.
 

Patricia Curtin, MD
Section Chief, Geriatric Medicine
Christiana Care Health System

Dr. Patricia Curtin is a board certified geriatrician and internist, and Section Chief of Geriatric Medicine at Christiana Care Health System (CCHS) in Delaware. She is the Medical Director of the Acute Care of the Elderly Units at Christiana and Wilmington Hospitals, the WISH (We Improve Senior Health)/NICHE Clinical Education Program, Stonegates Retirement Community and Health Center, and Riverside Adult Day Program. She is a full-time faculty member in the Department of Medicine at CCHS and Director of Geriatric Medicine Resident Education. She has an appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.
 

Terry Fulmer, PhD, RN, FAAN

Terry Fulmer, PhD, RN, FAAN, is the President of The John A. Hartford Foundation in New York City, a foundation dedicated to improving the care of older adults. She serves as the chief strategist for the Foundation and was recently recognized for her leadership as one of the top 50 Influencers in Aging by PBS’s Next Avenue, the premier digital publication dedicated to covering issues for older Americans. Dr. Fulmer is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine. 

Dr. Fulmer is nationally and internationally recognized as a leading expert in geriatrics and is best known for conceptualization and development of the national NICHE program and research on the topic of elder abuse and neglect, work that has been funded by the National Institute on Aging and the National Institute of Nursing Research. She is a Distinguished Practitioner of the National Academies of Practice and currently an attending nurse and senior nurse in the Yvonne L. Munn Center for Nursing Research at the Massachusetts General Hospital and an attending nurse at Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC. She has authored over 150 peer-reviewed papers and edited 10 books.
 

Denise Lyons DNP, APRN, AGCNS-BC

Denise Lyons, DNP, APRN, AGCNS-BC is a board certified Adult/Gerontological Clinical Nurse Specialist at Christiana Care Health System in Delaware. She has also been the NICHE Program Manager for the past 18 years.  Denise’s role at Christiana Care is to improve clinical outcomes for patients age 65 or older, by facilitating the implementation of the NICHE program.  Her other responsibilities include coordinating and teaching geriatric educational programs and providing clinical consultation. She is involved in many hospital projects that require geriatric expertise such as the Fall Prevention & Mobility team, Constipation team & Delirium team. 
 

Kedar Mate, MD
Chief Innovation and Education Officer
Institute for Healthcare Improvement

Kedar Mate, MD, is the Chief Innovation and Education Officer at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and a research professor at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Mate’s scholarly work has focused on health system design, health care quality, strategies for achieving large-scale change, and approaches to improving value. He is the recipient of the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship and has been recognized as an Aspen Institute Healthcare Innovator. Previously Dr. Mate worked at Partners In Health, served as a special assistant to the Director of the HIV/AIDS Department at the World Health Organization, and led IHI’s national program in South Africa. Dr. Mate has published numerous peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and white papers.

Julie Trocchio, RN, MS, is Senior Director of Community Benefit and Continuing Care at the Catholic Health Association of the United States. Ms. Trocchio carries out programmatic and advocacy activities related to community benefit, tax exemption, environmental sustainability and long-term care. She also is the CHA liaison to the executives of state Catholic health associations and conferences.
