Welcome to Modern Healthcare’s 2010 Trustee of the Year awards competition. The awards, co-sponsored by executive search firm Witt/Kieffer, will honor two outstanding trustees for their contributions to healthcare governance, one award for small healthcare organizations — those with fewer than 250 beds or less than $75 million in annual revenue — and another award for larger organizations. One honorable mention in each category will also be named.

Per editorial policy, sponsors are not involved in the judging or determination of award recipients. To make a nomination, send Modern Healthcare a letter no longer than five pages detailing the person’s background and accomplishments in his or her role as a healthcare trustee. Letters also should include the number of years the trustee has been on the board; the name of the healthcare organization’s chief executive officer; the organization’s number of staffed beds, if applicable, and 2008 total revenue; as well as contact information.
