Welcome to the Top 25 Women in Healthcare biennial recognition program. This page will provide answers to frequently asked questions and provide basic information about this program.
General Program Questions:
Q: What is this program about?
A: This biennial recognition program honors female healthcare executives who are making a positive difference in the industry.
Q: When is the next call for entries?
A: Late 2010.
Q: What are the criteria?
A: We accept nominations from all sectors of the industry, including hospitals, health systems, physician organizations, insurance, government, vendors and suppliers, trade and professional organizations, and patients’ rights groups.
Modern Healthcare editors review the nominations and judge them based on five criteria. Has the candidate:
Successfully served as a leader or managed an organization or company?
Shown the ability or power to effect change in the healthcare industry?
Demonstrated a willingness to share expertise with others in the field?
Served as a role model or mentor to other female healthcare executives?
Assumed a leadership position in the industry outside of the candidates’ own organization or company?
Q: When is the deadline?
A: The submission deadline for the 2011 program will be announced in late 2010.
Q: How do I nominate someone?
A: Send
Modern Healthcare a detailed cover letter explaining how the candidate meets or exceeds the five criteria. Submissions must include the nominee’s resume or curriculum vitae, age and a color photo. Please send the material to David Burda, Editor,

Q: How and when will the winners be announced?
A: The winners are announced and published in an issue of

Q: Will entrants be notified if they win/lose?
A: Winners will be contacted prior to publication. Non-winning entrants will not be contacted.
Q: How are the winners recognized?
A: A program guide highlighting the winners will be published in an issue of Modern Healthcare and distributed at a banquet congratulating the honorees.
Q: Will there be an event?
A: Yes, there will be a banquet congratulating the honorees.
