The Modern Healthcare / ECRI Institute Technology Price Index is a monthly snapshot of the prices hospitals and other provider organizations are paying for supply and capital items.

The three indices below include the latest monthly average price of each item and the change in that price from the previous month and over the past 12 months. The monthly average prices are calculated using a three-month rolling average. Below the three indices is an interactive trending chart to help you compare and track price changes over time.

Top 10 Supply Items by Total Spend - June 2013 Tracks 10 supply items, often known as "physician preference items," based on total amount spent on those items during the month by hospitals and other provider organizations.

Technology Price Trends (in $) Track and compare prices (in US dollars) over the last 12 months for key healthcare supply and capital items with this interactive chart. Prices shown on the graph represent a 3-month rolling average for each month. If you select two items with prices far apart, the chart may only show one item's graph; the other item will appear as a flat line until you deselect the first.
