When Michael Green took over as president and chief executive officer of New Hampshire’s Concord Hospital in June 1992, getting hospital staff used to the idea of a paper-free existence was not among his chief challenges. In that regard he was lucky, acknowledges Green. “We were already using IT for patient admissions and for the nurses on the floor,” Green says.
