IT Case Study Contest

Welcome to the IT Case Study Contest. This annual program recognizes healthcare IT implementation projects that have improved patient care and that also may be eligible for funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, commonly known as the economic stimulus bill.

Healthcare organizations or corporations whose primary function is providing healthcare services to patients or financing healthcare services for patients are eligible to participate. Submissions must be written by a CIO or senior-level IT executive and must include the following:

  • Description of the health information technology or system adopted, including cost, manpower and other resources needed.
  • Evidence of how the health information technology or system is being used to improve patient care or patient care delivery.
  • Strategy for seeking funding for the health information technology or system adopted from the ARRA.

The 2009 contest is now closed. Watch for a call for nominations for the 2010 contest.

Several leading healthcare CIOs will assist the editorial review board, consisting of a panel of senior editors, in reviewing the submitted case studies. The best case studies will be featured in a special section of Modern Healthcare. All submitted case studies will appear in a special section on ModernHealthcare.com.

For more information, contact Modern Healthcare reporter Shawn Rhea at 212-210-0471 or srhea@modernhealthcare.com.
