Health information connectivity and management services company ZirMed has acquired health analytics provider Intelligent Healthcare, Santa Monica, Calif.

Announced last week, Louisville, Ky.-based ZirMed's acquisition is effective immediately. ZirMed, which provides revenue-cycle management, clinical communications and analytics for more than 195,000 providers, will begin integrating Intelligent Healthcare's platform for population health management into its own technology suite, the company said.

Intelligent Healthcare aggregates clinical and financial data from healthcare information systems to deliver cost and utilization analysis and real-time quality tracking as well as population health management services for value-based reimbursement programs.

“We've been dedicated to taking population health in a new direction by aggregating information from multiple data silos and focusing on the entire patient population,” Intelligent Healthcare CEO and founder Paul Katz said in a release. “ZirMed was a very natural fit for our organization—they have an extremely modern platform that excels at collecting and normalizing very high-quality data, which is essential for effective analytics and population health management.”

Financial terms of the deal were not released. Last month, ZirMed announced that it had acquired the payment processing, patient eligibility and patient estimation business services owned by healthcare technology company TransEngen, Shelton, Conn. That addition is expected to grow ZirMed's processing of patient payments to more than $2 billion annually, according to the company.
