Physicians Interactive announced Monday that it has fully acquired Tomorrow Networks, the mobile advertising network for healthcare marketers that it created through a joint venture with Remedy Systems.
New York-based Tomorrow Networks serves ads that are specifically targeted to healthcare providers and patients, reaching more than 50 million healthcare professionals and consumers each month. Ads are driven by demographic information that includes user gender, profession, specialty and location.
"With 219 million smartphone subscriptions in the U.S. and more than 80% of physicians using mobile devices in the workplace, the need to reach people in highly targeted and engaging ways via their mobile devices is becoming increasingly critical as a distribution platform," Physicians Interactive CEO and Chairman Donato Tramuto said in a news release
Physicians Interactive, Reading, Mass., launched the network in 2011 through a strategic alliance with New York-based Remedy Systems. Last May, Remedy Systems was absorbed by its parent company, Remedy Partners. Terms of either deal have not been released.
