Carle, an integrated network of healthcare services based in Urbana, Ill., named Dr. Matthew Gibb executive VP and system chief medical officer.
Gibb, a cardiologist and former senior flight surgeon with the U.S. Navy Medical Corps, moved into his new role Jan. 1. Gibb, 56, most recently served as medical director of Carle Heart and Vascular Institute, but has also been a member of the Carle Foundation Hospital medical executive committee and chaired Carle Clinic's board of governors.
“Dr. Gibb has distinguished himself with his career accomplishments as well as his vision and understanding of the needs for Carle and our patients moving into the future,” Dr. James Leonard, Carle president and CEO, said in a news release
Dr. Malec Mokraoui, also a cardiologist, is now medical director of Carle Heart and Vascular Institute. Mokraoui, 62, will continue to see patients in Urbana and Danville, Ill.Follow Rachel Landen on Twitter: @MHrlanden
