The Producer Price Index for acute-care hospitals
increased 0.4% in November, compared with 0.2% in October.
The price index from the Bureau of Labor Statistics
is one measure of inflation and tracks changes in healthcare reimbursement.
For the year that ended in November, hospital prices increased 1.7%, a more modest pace than the 2.3% the year before.
Figures for November and the prior three months are preliminary.
The physician office Producer Price Index, meanwhile, did not change in November after a 0.1% increase in October. During the 12 months that ended in November, the physician
