Russell Branzell, the new president and CEO of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, told the 750 chief information officers gathered in Scottsdale, Ariz., for CHIME's annual fall forum that the health IT industry will face numerous challenges over the next year. The former CIO at Poudre Valley and University of Colorado healthcare systems described the difficulties CIOs will face in 2014 during an interview with Modern Healthcare editor Merrill Goozner.
