The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives laid out an ambitious lobbying agenda to the 750 members gathered Oct. 8-11 in Scottsdale, Ariz., for the group's annual 2013 fall forum. Pamela McNutt, a member of CHIME's policy steering committee and CIO of Methodist Health Systems in Dallas, told Modern Healthcare editor Merrill Goozner that high on that agenda would be convincing the CMS to postpone penalties for failing to meet data collection and interoperability standards that came with government support for purchasing electronic health records.
