Presented in aggregate, this analysis of the latest issues affecting provider relationships with their supply vendors and group purchasing organizations is based on executives opinions in response to the
2013 Modern Healthcare Survey of Executive Opinions on Purchasing conducted online from May 6 through August 2.
This newly revamped survey replaced the annual Group Purchasing Organization Survey and the annual Outsourcing Survey. Rather than surveying GPOs and outsourcing companies themselves, Modern Healthcare surveyed healthcare executives to find insights into the latest thoughts, trends and relationships.
This three-page package includes the following data charts that were published in the August 19 issue of Modern Healthcare:
- Structural changes
Illustrates whether executives anticipate an increase, decrease or no change with GPO contracts, wholesale distributors and more
- Overall satisfaction
Illustrates satisfaction levels with outside contractors and primary GPOs
- Budgeting outside procurement
Illustrates the percentage range of the total budget that was spent on outside procurement
- Controlling costs
Illustrates the level by which executives believe their primary GPO can effectively controls costs
- Total operational budget
Illustrates the percentage of respondents' total annual operation expense budget for their organization in 2012
