It's safe to say that everyone looking for employment would hope to find the best possible place to work—organizations that go out of their way to empower workers to always do their best.
Nowhere is that more important than in healthcare, where so much can be at stake in everyone's job performance. Identifying these standout employers is the mission of Modern Healthcare's sixth annual
Best Places to Work in Healthcare recognition program, now under way.
The program, sponsored by the Studer Group, honors workplaces in healthcare that enable employees to perform at their optimum level to provide patients and customers with the best possible care and services.
On behalf of Modern Healthcare, the Best Companies Group, a Harrisburg, Pa.-based firm that conducts regional “best places to work” programs around the country, will conduct two surveys of healthcare companies that volunteer to participate. The first is a questionnaire for a participating employer. The second is a satisfaction survey of a company's employees.
Participation is open to all healthcare organizations and companies in all sectors of the industry with a minimum of 25 full-time employees. Participation is free to participants that complete the process electronically. There is a fee for those that submit on paper.
The deadline to register for this year's program is May 3.
Healthcare organizations and companies that participate in the program will receive a free employer benchmark summary report. Participants also will be able to buy a full assessment feedback report from the Best Companies Group.
In late July, Modern Healthcare will announce the names, in alphabetical order, of the Best Places to Work in Healthcare in three categories by company size: small companies with 99 or fewer employees; medium-sized companies with 100-999 employees; and large companies with 1,000 or more employees.
The Best Places to Work in Healthcare will be honored at a dinner Oct. 24 in Atlanta, where Modern Healthcare will reveal the rank order of the recipients in each category. The ranking will also appear in a special supplement to be published Oct. 28.
