Cerner Corp., a Kanas City, Mo.-based health information technology company, has inked a deal to acquire PureWellness, a Burlington, Vt., firm that makes software for population health.

Terms were not disclosed, although the publicly traded company said in a news release that the deal is expected to close next month and will not have a material affect on its 2013 financial results.

Cerner will rebrand PureWellness as Cerner Wellness and offer the platform alongside its Cerner Millennium and Cerner HealtheIntent products. PureWellness' solutions allow companies and health plans to administer and manage their wellness programs.

In the release, Cerner noted that the deal will allow it to offer a suite of population health management tools to clients such as accountable care organizations, managed-care organizations, employers, insurers and providers.
