Welcome to the 50 Most Influential Physician Executives in Healthcare (formerly the 50 Most Powerful Physician Executives in Healthcare) recognition program. Modern Physician and sister publication Modern Healthcare co-sponsor this annual recognition program. We changed the name of the program to better reflect the skills needed to improve the healthcare delivery system in the post-healthcare reform era. It took power to make reform happen; now it will take influence to make reform work.
Reader nominations are used to create the final ballot for this competition. Readers then vote for one of 100 physician executives on that ballot. Readers' votes will count for 50% of the outcome. The other 50% will come from the expert opinions of the senior editors at Modern Healthcare and Modern Physician. Modern Physician and Modern Healthcare reserve the right to resolve voting irregularities.
