A leading federal defense contractor has followed up a recent health information technology provider purchase with the acquisition of a health data analyst.
CACI International, Arlington, Va., acquired IDL Solutions, Germantown, Wis., according to a company
news release.
The terms of the purchase of IDL Solutions, which specializes in "big data" analytics for healthcare, were not disclosed, although CACI pegged its new acquisition's 2012 revenue at about $18.5 million. IDL has major contracts with the CMS, the FDA and the National Institutes of Health.
The acquisition expands CACI's presence in the $33.5 billion addressable healthcare market and complements the company's
November acquisition of Emergint Technologies, a health IT vendor, the released noted.
The purchases followed CACI's receipt of a $45 million contract in July 2012 to provide certain operations and maintenance support services for the National Institutes of Health.
