Health Central Hospital, Ocoee, Fla., has hired Jennifer McCarthy as its COO.

McCarthy, 42, replaces Greg Ohe, who this year became president of the hospital on the heels of its acquisition by the Orlando (Fla.) Health system.

McCarthy joins Health Central from Health First, Rockledge, Fla., where she most recently served as VP of operations for Palm Bay (Fla.) Hospital. There she oversaw an $82 million expansion project and increased emergency room volume by 10%, according to an e-mailed news release.

Orlando Health completed its $181.3 million takeover of Health Central in April.
