Duane Erwin, the president and CEO of four-hospital Aspirus in Wausau, Wis., is set to retire in July, the system's officials confirmed.
Erwin, 64, who had practiced law, has held the top executive's job at Aspirus since 2006. Before that, he served as president at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Erwin's departure follows
October's news that Diane Postler-Slattery was leaving her post as Aspirus Wausau Hospital president and COO for Mid-Michigan Health, Midland, Mich., where she will start next week as president and CEO. Erwin's successor will choose her replacement. Aspirus has two hospitals in Wisconsin and two in Michigan.
