The partnership between outpatient imaging provider Alliance HealthCare Services, Newport Beach, Calif., and Emory Healthcare, Atlanta, has led to the establishment of a new diagnostic imaging center in Buford, Ga.

The facility serves patients and doctors at Emory University Hospital Midtown in Atlanta and Emory Johns Creek (Ga.) Hospital. The partnership between Emory and Alliance Imaging began in October, according to a news release.

"Our partnership with Alliance will allow Emory to provide a wide array of state-of-the-art imaging capabilities to better serve the metro-Atlanta community," Emory Hospital Midtown CEO Dane Peterson said in the release. "We look forward to forging this new relationship with Alliance, who will provide the management, marketing and support staff to assist our healthcare staff."

Alliance Imaging focuses on MRI, PET/CT and CT. The company counts more than 1,900 team members and offers services at more than 1,000 hospitals in 46 states. Three-hospital Emory Healthcare employs about 1,200 physicians and counts about 2,100 affiliated nonemployed private-practice physicians.
