Decision Resources Group, a healthcare consulting company based in Burlington, Mass., has acquired Abacus International, a developer of economic modeling technologies and services for healthcare payers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

A news release announcing the deal stated that Abacus, based in Bicester, England, will operate within Decision Resources' market-access business unit. Jim Lang, president of the unit, said in the release: "Besides expanding our global market access services and products, the acquisition also allows us to now offer market-access capabilities for the medical device and diagnostic industry as well as to significantly expand our commercial support capabilities, with industry-leading mobile communication tools."
