Veteran IBM Corp. executive Marc Lautenbach has been named president and CEO of Pitney Bowes, the Stamford, Conn.-based provider of communications technologies and services for healthcare and other industries.
Lautenbach, who also was named a board member, replaces Murray Martin in both positions. Martin, who also served as the company's board chairman, is retiring and has resigned from the board, according to a
Pitney Bowes news release.
Current board member Michael Roth, chairman and CEO of the Interpublic Group, has been appointed nonexecutive chairman of the 13-member board, effective immediately.
Lautenbach most recently was managing partner of IBM North America Global Business Services. Previously in his 27-year career with IBM, he served as general manager of IBM North America and general manager and VP of IBM Asia-Pacific small and medium business, according to Pitney Bowes' release.
