Health Management Associates, Naples. Fla., is attempting to get ahead of a negative “60 Minutes” story scheduled to air on Sunday by preparing investors for the potential negative publicity.

The publicly traded system said in a news release that it will hold a conference call and webcast Friday morning to refute information that “wrongly portrays the company in a negative light.” It did not specify the topic of the segment, but noted that an executive editor from “60 Minutes” confirmed plans to air the story this weekend.
