Dartmouth-Hitchcock partners with Indian Health Service

Dartmouth College and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, N.H., have joined a partnership aimed at promoting the health of Native Americans across the country and developing leaders in the Native American community.

The college and medical center recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Indian Health Service, which is part of the federal Department of Health and Human Services.

The partnership's goals include improving undergraduate understanding of Native American health care, recruiting and training health care professionals from the Native American community at Dartmouth and providing educational opportunities for doctors and nurses at the Indian Health Service.
