Apprio, a Washington-based information technology company that develops software for the healthcare and defense sectors, has named Dr. H. Allen Dobbs chief medical information officer.
Dobbs, 57, will be in charge of the company's health sector strategy and innovation efforts, according to a
news release. Dobbs is the former CMO of HHS' National Disaster Medical System.
"We are very pleased to welcome Allen Dobbs to the Apprio team," Apprio President Darryl Britt said in the release. “He has a long history in the federal health IT industry and truly understands the unique challenges faced by this sector.”
Apprio developed and supports an electronic health-record system used by the federal government to manage medical care during natural disasters and other national security events.
