St. John Providence Health System, Warren, Mich., has hired David Brooks (PDF) as president of St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit and senior VP of St. John Providence.

Brooks, 51, is the former CEO of the Northwest (Everett) Washington Region of Providence Health & Services. He replaces Diane Radloff, who retired in February. Since then, Frank Poma, president of St. John River District Hospital in East China, Mich., has filled in on an interim basis.

Radloff held the post since 2008, and Brooks will start his new job on Feb. 11.
