Knob Hill Partners, a Boston-based private investment firm, has acquired Sage Data Security, a Portland, Maine-based provider of information security services for healthcare providers, the financial sector and the government.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, Charlie Burckmyer, a Knob Hill Partners co-founder, said in an e-mail. The acquisition closed last week.

"Their investment will bring considerable capital resources, a strong professional network and additional leadership strengths to accelerate the company's development," Sari Greene, the founder of Sage Data Security, said in a news release (PDF).
