Chicago's Loretto Hospital names Mehta CEO

Loretto Hospital, Chicago, named Dr. Sonia Mehta as CEO.

Mehta most recently served as president and CEO of the HSHS Medical Group, a 200-member medical group with facilities in Illinois and Wisconsin, owned by Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System.

"I am committed to bringing the full extent of my knowledge and experience to this challenge," Mehta said in an e-mailed news release from Loretto. "This community deserves no less than my all, and I will give everything that I have to the residents of Chicago's West Side. I welcome this opportunity, and I greatly appreciate the warm welcome that the people of this neighborhood have extended to me."

She replaces Steven Drucker, who has served as CEO since 1995.
