Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center named Dr. Joseph Parrillo chairman of its Heart & Vascular Institute.
Parrillo, 65, joins the 696-bed hospital from Cooper University Hospital in Camden, N.J., where he was director of the Cooper Heart Institute. He also served as chief of the hospital's department of medicine, according to a news release announcing his appointment. Previously, he was a professor and chairman of the medicine department at Rowan University's Cooper Medical School.
Parrillo succeeds Dr. Gregory Simonian and Dr. Louis Teichholz, who served as the institute's co-interim chairmen.
