Steward Health Care System, based in Boston, has hired
Stephen Farber as CFO.
Farber has served as an executive-in-residence for Warburg Pincus and CFO for Tenet Healthcare Corp. and is the founder of Connance, a healthcare financial technology firm, according to a news release. His age was not available.
Drexel DeFord, chairman of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives,
was named Steward's chief information officer this year.
The for-profit health system has acquired five hospitals in Massachusetts since 2010. It is pursuing a deal to buy
Mercy Hospital, a Catholic hospital in Portland, Maine, that is part of Catholic Health East.
