Carlson, who is board-certified in medical oncology and internal medicine, serves as medical director of inpatient oncology and hematology at the Stanford Cancer Institute, which is a member of the NCCN. Carlson, 60, has worked extensively with the NCCN in the past as chairman of numerous panels and task forces. …

May will serve as the group's managing director, according to a Farragut Square news release. He spent 12 years with the AHA, working with Congress to help develop legislation and often serving as a spokesman. He left the organization in August.
Michael Scialdone was named CEO of Memorial Health System, owned by the city of Colorado Springs, Colo., effective Oct. 1. Scialdone has been serving as interim CEO since May 2012, when Dr. Larry McEvoy left the organization. On Aug. 28, Colorado Springs voters approved the terms of a long-term lease under which Memorial's namesake hospital and other assets will be operated by the newly formed University of Colorado Health system as part of an almost $1.8 billion deal. The UC Health system is a joint venture between University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora and Poudre Valley Health System, Fort Collins, Colo. Scialdone, 47, joined Memorial in 2008 and held the post of senior VP and CFO before being named interim CEO. He previously was CFO of Centura Health's Penrose-St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs. …

Patrick Spangler was named senior VP and CFO of Healthland, Minneapolis, a rural-focused health information technology company. Spangler, 56, previously was CFO at point-of-care IT company Epocrates, San Mateo, Calif. He joined Epocrates in September 2010. Spangler took over Sept. 17 from Rick Graham, who was interim CFO and who returns to his role as controller, according to a Healthland spokeswoman.
Golden Living, Plano, Texas, has promoted David Stordy to president of its Golden LivingCenters division, where he will be responsible for its 304 skilled-nursing facilities. Stordy, 45, was previously senior VP of operations for Golden LivingCenters' eastern region. The new position represents the company's move to create a new structure that consolidates two regional divisions, according to a spokeswoman. Before joining Golden Living, Stordy was senior VP of the northeast division of SunBridge Healthcare. He has also served as southeast regional senior VP and a director of operations at Kindred Healthcare.
McKesson Corp., San Francisco, named Mark Walchirk president of McKesson U.S. Pharmaceutical. Walchirk, 46, previously was the COO of McKesson Specialty Health and for the past 11 years filled various leadership roles for different McKesson divisions. He replaces Brian Tyler, who has moved on to the position of executive VP of corporate strategy and business development for McKesson. McKesson U.S. Pharmaceutical is the company's largest business and has 40,000 customers, according to a news release.
