The
second round of draft test materials for developers of health information technology to use in the testing and certification of electronic health-record systems and modules against the 2014 edition of standards and certification criteria has been released for public comment by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.
The latest release includes test procedures, tools and applicable test data and files, according to the ONC. It follows a
first round of testing procedures that the ONC released Sept. 7.
The ONC is accepting comments on the materials at ONC.Certification@hhs.gov; submissions should include "2014 Test Methods" in the subject line.
Final rules for the testing and certification of systems designed for healthcare providers to use to meet the Stage 2
meaningful-use criteria under the federally funded EHR incentive programs were
released by the ONC last month. Providers won't be required to meet the Stage 2 criteria until 2014.
