Regarding “Ranks of uninsured drop to 15.7% in 2011
Statistics are like bikinis. What they show you can be quite revealing, but what they never show you is what's vital.
The baby boomers rushing into retirement and the government declaring that you are not viable outside the womb until age 26, and Medicaid expansion are not good ways to become insured.
The dirty secret that no one in Washington wants to lay on the voters is that there are three types of healthcare:
1) Universal healthcare
2) Affordable healthcare
3) High-quality healthcare
The dirty secret is that you can never have more than two of them at any one time. Sort of the mirror image of the game rock-paper-scissors.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act gives us the first and third—with no lifetime caps—but will eventually result in premiums becoming unaffordable. This shouldn't come as a surprise as the name of any government bill usually results in achieving the opposite effect.
