Improve provider-patient communication

Regarding “IOM calls for better use of technology in healthcare”:

For those of us who have been in healthcare for a very long time, those solutions have been evident for a long time.

What needs to happen now is to stop identifying problems and barriers to solutions for those problems and start the hard work of actually solving problems. I believe the fundamental starting point should be enhancing communication between healthcare providers and patients. These systems have to be uniform and streamlined.
