Modern Physician and sister publication Modern Healthcare would like to congratulate Dr. Theri Griego Raby as the recipient of its fifth annual
Physician Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
An editorial review board consisting of Modern Physician senior editors chose Raby out of a pool of 30 nominees.
To be eligible, nominees had to meet three criteria: be an M.D. or a D.O.; own in whole or in part a current business serving the healthcare industry, or lead or manage a current business serving the healthcare industry; and demonstrate the financial or market success of that business.
Modern Physician retained the services of accounting firm Grant Thornton, which reviewed the financial documents submitted by the nominees. Grant Thornton's review, which did not constitute a full audit, uncovered no irregularities. You can learn more about Grant Thornton at

Modern Physician announced the 2012 program on April 2 and issued a call for nominations. Modern Physician and Modern Healthcare solicited nominations through May 25. Modern Physician notified Raby of her selection on June 8. Nonrecipients were notified by Aug. 1.
Modern Physician will present Raby with the Physician Entrepreneur of the Year Award during a brief ceremony held Sept. 20 in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Physician Hospitals of America in Austin, Texas.
