Dr. Gary Kaplan is the chairman and CEO of Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. Kaplan has served as CEO and chairman of the center since 2000. During his tenure, the hospital was named the Top Hospital of the Decade for patient quality and safety by the Leapfrog Group. Kaplan is a founding member of Health CEOs for Health Reform and works as a clinical professor at the University of Washington. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan and is board certified in internal medicine.
