NorthShore University HealthSystem announced Chief Operating Officer Jeffrey Hillebrand will retire in September, bringing his 33-year tenure with the Evanston, Ill.-based system to a close, according to an e-mailed statement from the system.
Hillebrand's departure prompted NorthShore to make three additional changes to its leadership team. J.P. Gallagher, president of 743-bed NorthShore Evanston Hospital, was named as Hillebrand's replacement as the system's COO.
Doug Silverstein, president of NorthShore Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, Ill., earns a promotion as Gallagher's replacement.
Sean O'Grady, senior vice president at NorthShore Evanston Hospital, will replace Silverstein. Their ages weren't provided. Gallagher appeared on
Modern Healthcare's 2010 Up & Comers list.
The 58-year-old Hillebrand will retire Sept. 30, while the other moves will take effect Oct. 1.
